Are you someone that works on large documents
over a period of time? Maybe, you use the same document
repeatedly. Either way, here's a trick to access the last
document you worked on, quickly, from your desktop.
- Right click on your desktop, go to New and choose
Shortcut (For Word 2003 point to c:\program files\microsoft
office\office11\winword.exe.)
- After the location press the space bar and type /mFile1.
- Click Next and change the name of the shortcut
to 'Last Word Document'.
- Click Finish.
You will now have a shortcut on your desktop
that will open up the last opened document you worked on
in Word.
The same will apply to Excel if you prefer. Instead of choosing
winword.exe, choose excel.exe. You may even want both: just
be sure to re-label the shortcut properly.
Tricks of the trade!
